My Big Fat Greek Reunion

July 4th, 2010 Posted in Pictures | No Comments »

Since we have no baby news to report yet and I’m done with big projects at school and elsewhere, I thought I would do some updating of our poorly maintained blog.

In June, the Greek side of Tim’s family (his mom’s mom was from Greece) got together in Chicago for a picnic, games, and hanging out.  Here are a few highlights from the day:

28 Weeks

I am officially in my third trimester with Baby K2!  This pregnancy is going fast, and yet July seems so far away.  I’m still feeling quite well, and baby is very active all the time.  Sleep is already elusive between the little boy in my belly and the little boy who sleeps in the room next door.  I know, it’s all to prepare me for the sleepless nights of nursing.  Couldn’t I get ahead on my sleep to get ready for that instead?

Here’s a new belly shot:

Easter and Spring Break

April 18th, 2010 Posted in Pictures | 3 Comments »

Easter was celebrated at our church in Milwaukee this year as I have duties there as the music director.  In the afternoon, we traveled to Illinois to be with Tim’s family at his sister’s house.  Peter hunted for Easter eggs with his cousins.  And as only an aunt can do, Kristin put a strict 20 egg limit for each child.  Needless to say, Peter came home with more candy then he knew what to do with!

The week after Easter, Peter and I traveled to South Dakota to visit family on both sides.  I know I must be crazy to travel across two states with a two year old while pregnant, but the trip went surprisingly well.  We only had one major meltdown and only terrorized two restaurants.  Not bad!  Our first stop was in Edgerton, MN to visit my cousin Kendra and her family.  Then, we were onto Dell Rapids, SD to see my 94-year-old grandmother.  Some pictures from that stop:

We took a break from our travels one morning and stopped at the Sioux Falls Zoo.

We also visited my college friend Cherish and her family and stayed with Tim’s Uncle Ken and Aunt Carole for the night.

Then, it was back to Wisconsin, where you can find this lovely sculpture:

Can you guess where this is?

22 weeks

March 21st, 2010 Posted in Baby News | 2 Comments »

This week marks week 22 of my pregnancy with Baby K2.  As you can see, the belly is growing!  I’m feeling well but am always tired.  The heels are officially gone, and my engagement ring no longer fits.  This week I was feeling especially pregnant with crying fits for no reason, irratability, and just feeling plain exhausted.

Some exciting news is that we had the 20 week ultrasound two weeks ago.  Everything looks good so far; the baby looks healthy and good sized for week 20.  Baby was very active during the ultrasound which is not unusual.  I’m always being kicked in the bladder.  Also, we found out that we are having another boy!  We coudn’t be more excited.  I’ve always thought I was a mom of boys, and we are excited that Peter will have a brother to play with.  Now to think of a name!  Here are a few ultrasound pictures of our new little one.  Click on the picture to get a closer look.

Trip to Amery and St. Paul

March 21st, 2010 Posted in Pictures | 1 Comment »

At the beginning of March, I had a conference in Minneapolis and planned to stay with Craig and Mandy in St. Paul.  But since Grandma Lolo was missing Peter, we both traveled to Amery first.  Peter spent three nights at Grandma Lolo and Grandpa Roger’s house, the longest he has been away from mommy and daddy ever.  You wouldn’t have even known it.  I don’t think Peter missed us once.  Of course Grandma’s house is fun with her two cats and different toys.

Peter also visited Great Grandpa Van Someren in the nursing home, where he played cars with Great Grandpa and visited the fish.

After the conference, Peter and I spent a night at Craig and Mandy’s house in St. Paul.  We danced to music and got a horsey ride from Uncle Craig.

Thanks for the fun weekend!
